Description
A grant program developed by Community First Foundation to strengthen nonprofit partner organizations by funding their endowment building initiatives. This program was launched in October 2006 and was the second of its kind offered by the Foundation. A total of $250,000 was dedicated to this granting program.
Purpose
To support the Foundation’s nonprofit partner organizations by covering costs related to building their endowments.
Eligibility
The grant program was open to 501 (c) 3 organizations that have a fund at Community First Foundation. The fund must have been established by Friday, November 17, 2006.

Program Details
Community First Foundation is dedicated to promoting philanthropy and using its resources to strengthen communities. The Foundation committed $250,000 for the Strengthening Partners Grants 2006 program, designed to support the endowment building initiatives of its partner organizations.
The program funds up to $5,000 per organization to cover costs related to endowment building initiatives. Funding can include costs such as the following:
Applications were evaluated on the basis of need and/or the issue addressed, how well the project would support and/or enhance the organization’s endowment building, and whether the organization would be strengthened as a result of the grant. Grants were awarded by December 1, 2006.
