What is the GivingFirst program?

It is an online giving program that centers on a website called GivingFirst.org. Community First Foundation offers training, education, marketing and back-end support to make online giving easy and efficient for nonprofits.

What is GivingFirst.org?
GivingFirst.org is an online resource featuring Colorado charities. Made possible by Community First Foundation, it encourages charitable giving by providing comprehensive, objective and up-to-date information about local charities--and an easy way to support them online.

• Free to join and use, and
• In 2011, processing fees for online donations are paid by Community First Foundation up to the first $50,000 in donations per organization per year.
  

Enrollment

Please note that enrollment for GivingFirst and Colorado Gives Day 2011 is closed for 2011. We hope you will visit us again in March 2012 when enrollment re-opens. Simply go to GivingFirst.org or this page: enroll.

By featuring your organization on this site, you can:

• Reach donors online with a comprehensive profile
• Attract donors by sharing your mission and successes
• Build trust with donors by participating in a foundation-backed resource that is objective, reliable and up-to-date.

To participate in this program, your organization must meet be:

• A 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization
• Headquartered or providing services in Colorado
• Reporting at least $50,000 in annual revenue or $25,000 in net assets
• Registered with the Secretary of State with a valid certificate of registration and certificate of good standing.

The following are not eligible to participate:

• Private foundations
• Supporting organizations
• Places of worship
• Public safety organizations

How Can a Nonprofit Participate in GivingFirst?

The first step is to send an e-mail to GivingFirst@CommunityFirstFoundation.org with your organization's name, key contact's name, e-mail and phone. Then we will send you an e-mail with information on attending an introductory webinar.
