Endowment Funds
An endowment is a restricted fund designated to provide long-term support for a charitable cause. These funds are pooled and allow an organization to participate in Community First Foundation’s large investment allocation and benefit from our investment management expertise. A nonprofit organization may create a spending policy in order to support the organization’s mission. A prudent percentage of the endowment can be used as an added revenue stream.
Benefits: Protects long-term financial stability of organization; raises credibility by implying fiscal responsibility and prudent planning; fund assets are commingled with Community First Foundation’s investment pool to take advantage of buying power and administrative services and provides comfort to donors because donations are held by a large, stable organization with skills and experience.
