Caroline Jackson: Humanitarian at Heart
![]() |
Caroline Jackson, the Foundation’s controller, has been in the nonprofit world for 30 years. That’s because she’s a humanitarian at heart, she said, adding, “I believe our purpose on earth is to help others who can benefit from the gifts we’ve been blessed with. At the Foundation we’re helping many, many people by supporting nonprofits that do great humanitarian work in our community.”
Caroline has been with the Foundation for seven years, after holding accounting and finance positions at Exempla Healthcare for 20 years. She also worked for HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties as the director of finance and administration. You may have interacted with her if you’ve ever had questions about your organization’s fund activities or statements. Caroline prepares statements each quarter and fields calls about fund status and, these days, how the markets are impacting funds.
Developing and implementing software systems is Caroline’s passion at work. In her personal life, she is committed to hospice. Although she is no longer employed in the field, Caroline continues to volunteer regularly. “I’m not uncomfortable with the dying process,” she said. “I feel I can bring empathy and compassion to bereaved families.”
