New Nonprofits Join GivingFirst; Incentive Program Launched

Fifty-three nonprofits joined the GivingFirst Web site on April 1, 2008, bringing the total number of nonprofits featured on the site to 225. By the end of the year, we expect to showcase more than 300—making GivingFirst the most comprehensive source of objective, reliable nonprofit data in the area. More than 150 organizations received $867,224 through donations and incentives since the site’s launch in May 2007, including the Foundation’s matching dollars of $100,000 in 2007.

On April 1st the Foundation also kicked off a new incentive program that awards $30,000 from the Foundation to GivingFirst participants. The top 30 organizations with the greatest number of individual donors through GivingFirst in the month of April will receive a $1,000 grant from the Foundation. (Repeat donations from the same donor will not be counted.)  Watch for e-mails announcing the winners soon!
