Welcome
Welcome to our new e-newsletter!
We have created this tool especially for our nonprofit partners. In these newsletters you will learn about our latest granting programs, how to increase your endowments, best practices shared
by your peers, seminar summaries, plus much more. We encourage you to use
the feedback feature to let us know which topics are most relevant to you.
And we welcome you to forward this newsletter to co-workers or prospective partners seeking to learn more about the Foundation.
What is a Nonprofit Partner?
You've heard the phrase "nonprofit partner," but do you know what it means? The Foundation coined the term to identify nonprofit organizations that entrust us with managing their funds. In turn, we extend special services to support their mission. These services include grants designed to strengthen our partners
(visit Strengthening Partners Grants), plus mentoring, educational seminars, scholarships and networking opportunities. More than 50 organizations have embarked on a partnership with the Foundation.
Seminar Summary: Insider Tips on Marketing Your Endowment
If you're not a communications professional, the distinctions between the terms "marketing" and "public relations" may be fuzzy. Jon Pushkin, president of Pushkin Public Relations, tackled the differences at a recent seminar entitled Marketing & Public Relations Tools to Boost Visibility of Your Endowment. By illustrating the features of marketing and public relations, Pushkin helped nonprofit partners learn how to increase the visibility of their endowments.
Nonprofit Partner Spotlight:
MCPN Extends Safety Net to the Medically Underserved
The numbers are sobering. With a growing uninsured population that now approaches 800,000 in Colorado, the overwhelming needs of the state's medically underserved population are enough to concern even the most seasoned medical professionals. Fortunately, the people who run the Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN) are actively working on it.
Best Practices:
Green Tie Event Fuels Endowment
Metro Community Provider Network (MCPN) has seen its endowment grow from zero to nearly $1 million since the fund’s inception in 2004. As a participant in LMC Community Foundation’s first Endowment Challenge Grants program, MCPN received a dollar-for-dollar match on the first $200,000 they raised during the 14-month challenge-grant period. MCPN’s energy and innovation have continued to fuel donations to the endowment today.
