Community First Foundation launches new strategic plan; Expanding Staff and a Renewed Focus on Jefferson County

ARVADA, Colo. (Dec. 15, 2020) – Community First Foundation is looking forward to 2021 as it finishes the year with a record-breaking Colorado Gives Day that raised $50 million and a new direction for the community foundation based in Jefferson County.

With a renewed focus on Jeffco, Community First Foundation is eager to concentrate its work in the county they call home.

“Through relentless community listening and leveraging our grantmaking, fundraising and advocacy, we look forward to creating deeper local impact,” said Kelly Dunkin, president and CEO of Community First Foundation. “And, we are strengthening our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, making it central in all of our work. We are excited for what 2021 promises.”

The Foundation is growing its talent base to expand skill sets in business and product development, and advocacy, and is currently recruiting for a vice president of product development (ColoradoGives).

“I’m also thrilled to announce that Beth McConkey has been promoted to Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Beth has been with the Foundation for three years and brings incredible experience leading our marketing and communications team,” said Dunkin.

Beth McConkey brings 20 years of engagement, outreach and PR experience to the organization. Prior to joining the Foundation, McConkey served as assistant director of marketing at Regis University where she led marketing operations and digital marketing. She also previously served as communications director for the Rocky Mountain Multiple Sclerosis Center and the Colorado Energy Science Center.
