John concentrates his practice in estate planning, estate and gift taxation, and trust and estate administration. He is a frequent lecturer on estate planning, estate administration and charitable giving.
John has worked at Ryley Carlock & Applewhite for most of his career. He managed the firm’s offices in Scottsdale and Sun City during many of those years. Previously, John served as Managing Shareholder of his own law firm, Lischer, Batts & Lyons, P.C.
Before joining Ryley Carlock & Applewhite in 1970, John served as a Law Clerk to Justice Lorna E. Lockwood of the Arizona Supreme Court.
John has a B.A. from Grinnell College (Phi Beta Kappa) and a J.D. from the University of Michigan. He is a fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC).
