Julia McVey received her law degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1991. She is an elected Fellow of ACTEC (The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel). She has been a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations and is a member and past chair of The Rocky Mountain Estate Planning Council. Julie is an active member of the Trust and Estate Section of the Colorado Bar Association participating in various committees, having served as a Council Member of the Section as well as serving as Co-Editor of the Colorado Estate Planning Handbook. She is a frequent lecturer for the Bar Association’s continuing legal education courses.
Julie is committed to giving back to the community as well. In that regard, she was a founding Partner and former Steering Committee Member of Social Venture Partners (SVP-Denver), a donor-advised fund affiliated with the Denver Foundation. She is past Chair and Board member of Denver SCORES, a nonprofit organization which provides an after school creative writing/soccer program for elementary students in the northwest Denver area. Julie is presently a Board member of GuateStar, a 501c3 organization formed to assist the indigenous population of Guatemala with educational, spiritual and community projects.
