Lowry Foundation and Community First Foundation Announce New Endowment Fund

ARVADA, Colo. (May 8, 2018) – The Lowry Foundation recently took significant steps to secure its future by establishing an endowment with Community First Foundation. The newly funded $500,000 endowment also qualified for a $50,000 grant that rewards endowment‐building.

Funds generated by the new endowment will be used to enrich and enhance the quality of life in Lowry through programs of artistic, cultural, educational, and civic value. These include guest artist events, a speaker series, the Annual Lowry Beer Garden Celebration, community grants program and support for the Food for Kids Backpack program. In addition to ensuring long‐term security, the endowment is a testament to the stability and fiscal responsibility of the organization.

“Endowments provide a steady revenue source, thereby helping an organization weather the ups and downs of other funding sources,” explains Lynda Ricketson, Vice President of Philanthropic Services at Community First Foundation. “At Community First Foundation, we manage endowment funds ranging in size from $25,000 to millions of dollars for more than 100 nonprofits. By investing in an endowment with us, a nonprofit sends a message to donors that future funds will be carefully and expertly managed.”

“For the Lowry Foundation, financial stability is critical to supporting a healthy and vibrant community in Lowry,” explains Jim Lusche, President of Lowry Foundation. “The team at Community First Foundation took the time to understand what our needs were and provided resources critical in our stewardship. We are excited by this relationship and what it means for the future of Lowry”.
